Are your breasts causing back pain, or do you think your breasts are too large for you or have they started sagging? Breast Reduction surgery might be right for you!
Dr. Friedlander offers and has performed thousands of breast reduction surgeries. We offer the best surgeon and the safest practices!
This procedure is also known as a reduction mammoplasty. Women with
unusually large or sagging breast often choose to have this
reconstructive surgery procedure. Unusually large breasts can cause
neck, back, and shoulder pain which can hinder you from participating
in sporting activities and even normal daily routines. In addition,
unusually large breast can cause you to have poor posture. If you are
experiencing any of these symptoms, then a breast reduction may be
right for you.
The techniques of breast reduction have been significantly refined in the
last two decades to improve the consistency of results and to maximize
safety of the procedure. Our cosmetic surgery center uses several
techniques which have been proven to be very reliable.
Anybody who desires breast reduction should be able to have a procedure that is customized for their body.
There are numerous types of surgeries that we use, depending on a persons size and shape. We use Peri-areolar approach in moderate cases where there is only one incision at the nipple edge, that allows removal of tissue and tightening. This ends up at a circle around the nipple areolar only.
For larger breast reductions, we use a lollipop incision, which is a vertical incision only that allows removal and tightening of the envelope from side to side.
For extra skin, we use the anchor shape incision, which addresses both vertical horizontal tightening.
Finally, in very large breasts, the nipple is removed, and the large part of the breast is taken off, and the nipple is grafted on the new, smaller mound. This is for the largest reduction.
Yes, all of these procedures are routinely done as outpatient surgeries.
Breast reduction starts at $4,400.
Surprisingly, these big operations usually have minimal soreness. In fact, there is often a comment about feeling a lot better without carrying that extra weight.
Breast surgery is on e of the areas where antibiotics are recommended before and after surgery.
Normally, the healing is underway by 2-3 weeks post-op. Occasionally, some areas of the incision can take a long time to heal, but this is not abnormal.
Sometimes drains are used if some fluid is anticipated, but most cases are done without the need for drains.
Scars are partly based on what the surgeon does, and re partly based on your genetics of healing. Normally scars fade over the next after the operation.
Most of the techniques of reduction, besides the free nipple graph, have a 90% chance, or greater, of preserving nipple sensation.
Normally, if nipple sensation is preserved, breast feeding will be preserved too.
